Hey — Ryan To here.
In today's edition:
The most obvious content idea source nobody uses
System to filter ‘bad and ‘good’ videos
Why documenting your mistakes beats documenting your life
You're not one video away from blowing up
You're one idea away
Everyone's using the same tools
Same AI for scripting. Same app for editing.
Scrolling for inspiration.
The difference between creators isn't who has the better hook
It's the idea behind the video
After workshopping content strategy with 100's of consumer brands
I've collected a few systems for finding ideas
That don't involve copying what's already on your feed.

1. Your Meeting Goldmine

This one sounds obvious but nobody does it.
Every call you take is a content idea.
A customer tells you "your ingredient list won me over"
That's a hook your audience will screenshot.
Here's the system:
→ Use an AI notetaker on every call (Fireflies, Otter, Fathom)
→ Search your transcripts by keyword each week
→ Pull the exact phrases people said. Those are your hooks.
Connect your transcripts to Claude and ask:
"Go through my last 10 meetings. Pull out every question, frustration, or piece of advice. Turn each into a content hook."
More calls → more real language → better content → more inbound → more calls.
2. How to filter top 1% ideas
Now you have unlimited ideas
That's a new problem.
The wrong idea, even if it goes viral, does nothing for your business.
Does it pass the "because of" test?

A video has to go viral because of your product
Not despite it.
Hook baiting story you snuck your product in?
Conversions will be zero.
The product is the resolution to the tension. Not the afterthought.
The 4 pillar rotation:
→ Keep a master list of 15 potential topics
→ Pick 4 content pillars for this month
→ End of month: keep 2 winners, drop 1, swap in 1 experiment
→ Last month's data decides next month's inputs
Never stuck wondering "what should I post"
You already decided.
You rotate every 30 days.
Idea doesn't connect to your 4 pillars? Save it for next month.
3. Document your mistakes, not your life
Everyone says "document, don't create"
Nobody cares about your morning routine unless you're already famous.

Here's what works: document your problem solving.
→ Switched to a new 3PL and cut shipping time in half? 3 minute video.
→ Reformulated your product three times before the taste was right? Carousel.
→ Hired a creator for a campaign and they ghosted you? Story hook.
Your private learning is your public curriculum.
That's the script for your next piece of content.
You never have to "come up with ideas"
Just pay attention to what you're already doing.
Ideation is hard…
This should help ignite a few new ideas for what else to make
Have a great day ❤️
